Heartbreaking Hero

So I was on Facebook when I came across this article. A few of the comments I read briefly were stating that Brittany's decision was 'selfish' and she was choosing to take her life instead of letting her condition kill her in its own way. 

My take on it was much different.

Below, I have posted my comment on the Facebook link to the article. Let me know your thoughts and opinions on this brave woman's choice.

Rather than criticizing her, I think it's important to realize and acknowledge how brave this woman is. She just got married and, instead of enjoying promises of a bright future with the man she loves, she is having to face her own mortality. This is not a decision anyone this young should have to make yet she's handling it with strength, maturity and grace. As heartbreaking as this is to read as a stranger, I cannot even begin to comprehend how devastating it is for her and her family. What an inspiring and brave woman she is. I have the utmost respect for her.
